The following is a list of facsimile editions of classic comic books published by DC and Marvel in the past few years, reprinting individual issues that had originally appeared from 1935 to 1989.
Since 2019, DC and Marvel have been publishing facsimile editions of important issues, including the original advertisements. The facsimile editions generally have the same cover price as a current comic book ($3.99 or $4.99 for a regular size comic, as of 2024, or more for thicker issues) making them an inexpensive way to acquire these historic comics. I only really became aware of these facsimiles in 2022, and have been keen to pick them up when I see them.
This index is limited to facsimile reprints that faithfully reproduce the original comics, including their original ads, but I have noted in the "Addendum" section (in a separate blog post) an enormous amount of comics that have been reprinted in past decades in other, less faithful editions.
Most of the cover images below were taken from the Grand Comics Database (GCD) and contain a link to the GCD entry for the reprint (not the original), when available. Some facsimile editions have been reissued again later; the cover of the most recent edition is shown here. If the final published cover of the newest edition is not yet available, the entry will note that the cover shown here is "not final cover." Foil covers and other variants are ignored in this list, as well as "faux-similes" that contain new material and facsimiles of Marvel or DC comics published by other companies.

ADDENDUM
There have been other facsimile editions (or reprints including the original covers) in the past, although usually lacking the original ads and editorial matter (letter pages, etc.). In my judgement, the recent facsimile reprints (since 2019), shown above, have generally been superior to all previous attempts. (To clarify, I'm referring here only to those in the regular periodical format and not reprints in trade paperback or hardcover book format, which are outside the scope of this blog post.)
